Terms of Use

Last updated 18 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Double Mark. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Double Mark is a study tool that marks practice exam answers against published assessment objectives.

The most important points

What Double Mark is — and isn't

Double Mark uses AI to assess practice answers against published assessment objectives and level descriptors, and returns examiner-style feedback. Marks, grades and comments are an informed estimate to help you improve. They are not official results, are not issued or endorsed by any exam board, and do not predict or guarantee any real exam outcome.

No guarantee of accuracy

We work hard to make the marking useful, but AI can make mistakes. We do not warrant that any mark, grade or piece of feedback is accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose. You should treat the output as a study aid and confirm anything important with a qualified teacher.

Do not make decisions — such as whether to request a remark, or what grade to expect — solely on the basis of Double Mark's feedback.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Double Mark is provided "as is" and we exclude all warranties not expressly stated here. We are not liable for any loss or damage — including lost marks, missed opportunities, or exam outcomes — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or its feedback. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your account

Keep your login details secure and give accurate information when signing up. You're responsible for activity under your account. New personal accounts include two free markings, after which a subscription is required to continue.

Payments and cancellation

Subscriptions are £5 a month or £50 a year, billed through Stripe. You can cancel any time from your account; access continues until the end of the period you've paid for. Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund a payment already made.

Acceptable use

Use Double Mark for your own study only. Don't misuse it, attempt to disrupt or overload it, resell access, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

School passwords

School access is for pupils of a school that holds a current licence. Access may be withdrawn if a school's licence ends or the service is misused.

Changes

We may update the service or these terms. If we change the terms, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.

Privacy

How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
